A native New Mexican, Stacie Smith received her Fine Arts degree at the University of New Mexico in 1992. Upon graduation, she worked as a photographer, and metalsmith in Taos. In 1997 she embarked on a new journey, returning to school and receiving a Masters degree in Art Education. At that point life lead her to Montana, and she has been creating, as well as teaching in the art department at Bozeman High ever since 2000. It has been her teaching that ultimately has brought a sense of purpose to her life.
